about

Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) research and education organization of about 25,000 members nation-wide who are healthcare providers and healthcare policy advocates that seek to educate the public about how to create a universal comprehensive affordable single payer healthcare insurance program (also known as "improved Medicare for All").

mission

mission

1.   PNHP-RI believes that access to health care is a right of all people and we seek to ensure it is provided equitably as a public service rather than as a commodity available only to those who can afford it.

2.   PNHP-RI believes the current system created by multiple private health insurance companies is inefficient, unjust and unsustainable and we seek to replace this system with a single payer program that will provide universal, comprehensive, affordable health care.

3.   While PNHP-RI recognizes that a national single payer program is preferable, we seek to ensure that single-payer education and advocacy occurs in Rhode Island.
